Hottie of the Week: Enver Gjokaj

In honor of my hubby and I finishing the first season of Dollhouse, I hereby offer you the first season of Dollhouse's only piece of eye candy! Sorry, Paul doesn't do it for me. Topher's cute but not necessarily hot. Of course, season two we get Alexis Denisof (yum!). What was I saying? Oh yes! Our hottie with the excellently foreign name that I will never be able to say properly. Not only is this dude sexy, he's easily the best actor on the show. His impersonation of Topher alone should have gotten him some kind of award because DAYUM. Also? He was hilarious on Community. Enough talking: enjoy the pictures!

Best Singers You've Never Heard: Angela Strehli

Angela is an absolutely amazing blues singer out of Austin, TX. Yes, I know, I love me some Austin ladies. I grew up listening to a lot of blues and country that was local, and I still love it. If you only ever listen to one of Angela's awesome albums, do yourself a favor and get a copy of Soulshake. Whether you dig blues in and of itself or just love a strong female singer with an amazing voice, you won't be disappointed.

Hottie of the Week: Ray William Johnson

I'm going full on geek (less dangerous than going full retard, for those of you who are Tropic Thunder fans) this week with Ray William Johnson as my favorite hottie of the moment. See, the really funny thing is that it's my husband's fault I even know who he is. I never watched =3 (Ray's super crazy hilarious YouTube show)... until Wes showed it to me. I then proceeded to start watching it every now and then. Then I subscribed. Then I kinda went back and watched every single episode currently archived on the channel.

So why Ray? He's geeky, he's cute, he's funny. We'd make adorable, racially ambiguous babies if, y'know, we ever met in person and I weren't already married and pregnant. Yes, that's a joke. Remember, I'm FAR too lazy to actually stalk anyone. And he has some really nice, serious head shots out there on Google... and I didn't use a damn one of them because I like his goofy faces better. Sorry, Ray.

Want to be all hardcore about your love too? You can follow Ray on Twitter, check out his Facebook fan page, and subscribe to =3 and Your Favorite Martian, his newest project that's all funny animated videos (the zombie one is the best, no contest).

And since I'm awesome? I'm linking the most recent episode of =3 for you be-low because the baby FREAKING OUT over its mom sneezing made me laugh till I cried.

WANNA FIGHT? (by RayWilliamJohnson)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'd also like to take a moment to say that Casey Abrams made my night on Idol last night. No, not because it was his best performance ever but because he got up there and sang a Nirvana song and he didn't try to pretty it up. It wasn't pop. It was growly and dirty and awesome. YAY!

Ugh

Sick - 365.29, originally uploaded by allancaplan.
I don't like being sick. Yep, that's pretty much the whole point of this entry. Y'see, being pregnant and sick at the same time is obviously punishment for doing something wrong in a past life. Otherwise I wouldn't be dealing with vomiting, stuffiness, fever and other goodies all at the same time. Yuck. At least I'm on antibiotics after my trip to the doctor tomorrow, so here's to hoping that feeling human again is on the horizon.

Book Review: Duma Key

I'll start by pointing out that I'm a Stephen King fan. While I've certainly enjoyed some books more than others, I pretty much always have fun with his work. He balances serious supernatural/creepy stories with gallows humor and a love of old rock 'n' roll in a way that never fails to entertain me.

I was excited as usual to be starting a new King book (big thanks to Recycled Books & Music in Denton, TX for always having used copies in awesome shape available on the cheap). This was different from any other Stephen King books I've read. It's not that the story was a complete departure. It was different, yes, more mystery than straight up scares throughout most of the novel. It's also not just the setting, although setting the action in Florida instead of Maine made for an immediate shift in perspective.

There's just plain something different about this book, and I think it really comes down to a combination of all the little tweaks that he made in his own style while building this story. Whether you're a fan or not, I recommend giving this one a shot - especially if you're an art fan. It made me want to pick up a paint brush and let the vibes flow while cranking up some good tunes, and that alone was well worth the price of the book.

My Fave of Miami Ink-er

Chris Garver !, originally uploaded by volveralobestial*.*♥ .-.
I forgot about my hottie post today, so instead I'm doing a quick post related to the fact that I've been going through old eps of Miami Ink on Netflix. My fave? Easily Chris Garver. He's awesomely zen, makes purdy tattoos, and he's not bad looking either.

So who's *your* favorite?
