Down & Confused

xposted from my Art & Design blog -

Well, after nearly five years of selling with Etsy, all of my shops have been closed. No, not by me. I was finally having some success, was really pleased with my progress. No, my shops were closed by Etsy. They didn't even bother to email me about the closing of two of them. One was shut down for copyright violation. The other two, neither of which featured any copyrighted material (one featured entirely original art, the other entirely vintage goods) were shut down without a word from Etsy or any explanation.

I will be finding another way and place to sell. I'm just not sure where. Several of my designs are available via DeviantArt and Cafepress in the meantime, so I hope you'll check those out and tune in here, on Twitter and on Facebook for updates. Thank you all for your support!

Hottie of the Week: Sean Bean

It's a ruggedly handsome kind of week. You're welcome.

Hottie of the Week: Anton Yelchin

When I was a kid, I had a big old crush on Chekov from Star Trek, so it only follows that it came back with the revival of the original Trek 'verse. He was one of the few things that made the last Terminator movie at all bearable.

App of the Week: Words with Friends

We all need to kill some time and get our game on. If you're a fan of Scrabble, you should definitely check out Words with Friends (the free version, natch). It lets you play Scrabble-style word games with your friends. You can get a random opponent or challenge your friends through Facebook. Very fun!

Hottie of the Week: Charlie Hunnam

If you haven't seen Sons of Anarchy on FX, this right here? This is why you should. Don't like biker gangs and crazy drama? Well... you sound awfully boring, but turn off the sound and enjoy the view. You'll thank me later. Recent discovered that this little bit of yumminess was in the British version of Queer as Folk. Naturally I must now track down and execute a way to see that. Meanwhile, I have a ton of pictures because I got photographic ADD again and couldn't choose.

App of the Week: Walgreens

I haven't explored the full functionality of Walgreens' app for the Android, I confess, but for me, the whole dang thing is worth it for the prescription refill option. All you have to do is scan the barcode on the prescription with your phone and BAM! you can send it to your Walgreens of choice and tell them what time you're picking it up. Brilliant!

Hottie of the Week Alexander Siddig

Or Siddig El Fadil, depending on how early in his career the work you're looking at is from ;) In any case, I fell a little bit madly in love with him as Dr. Bashir on Deep Space Nine and have been tracking down his here-and-there parts ever since. Enjoy!

App of the Week: Key Ring

I've got an Android phone, and I figured it might be nice to throw out some of the apps that I use and enjoy the most. My goal? Weekly. Reality? Well... we'll see.

This week, it's Key Ring. This is an AWESOME app that lets you scan in all those key fobs and loyalty cards cluttering up your purse, wallet and keychain. Then you can bring them up on your phone to scan. It even shows you deals and coupons available for the stores in question if they're in the system. Sooo useful and cleared up soooo much clutter. Adore it. And, yes, it's free. I'm cheap and have only paid for one app in the year I've had my smart phone.
